๐ฃ๐ข๐๐๐ฆ๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐๐ ๐๐ก ๐๐ญ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐๐๐๐ก ISMAILIYYA PALACE IN BAKU This stunning building in Venetian Gothic style was built in 1908-1913 and was designed by the Polish architect Jรณzef Pลoszko. The palace was constructed for the Muslim Charity Society at the expense of the wealthy oil baron Agha Musa Naghiyev in commemoration of his deceased son Ismayil, who died young of Tuberculosis. Legend has it that Naghiyev sent Pลoszko on a long tour of Europe in search of inspiration. This was Pลoszkoโs first independent project during the 30 years he lived in Baku and remains his most iconic. During the March Days in 1918 the building suffered damage from fire and warfare.
