A woman decided to go swimming in Queensland, specifically the Rollingstone Creek near Townsville. The swim was cool, refreshing, and did not result in any deaths. In fact, while she was busy not being eaten alive by the local wildlife, she even had time to take a few underwater pictures. It was only upon returning home and examining said photographs that she realized she had been taking a swim with an enormous, man-eating crocodile. Crocodiles live in Australia, this is not news. However, this particular one, a three-meter long saltwater crocodile (the kind that eats people) had apparently swam upstream in search of food, fresh water, or young and tasty swimmers. The Queensland Department of Environment, Science and Innovation confirmed that the woman had narrowly avoided the croc shock, and are now attempting to locate it. Senior Wildlife Officer Tony Frisby warned potential swimmers to be careful, saying ‘you never know what is lurking in waterways.’
