The first time I saw Slayer was at the American Carnage Tour back in 2010 and the last time before this was in 2018 when they started their final tour campaign. At the time I didn't know they were only going to do a select set of shows so it was awesome to see them perform and do what they do best and catch this live. Usually, I'd be up in front row, but when there's a festival like this you basically have to camp at the rail to get as close as possible. Unfortunately, there's a point in the video where there's a commotion that happened to me from 56:58 - 58:22. The person in front of me felt I was crowding him and started to get upset real fast and told me to back up. Yes, when people would leave I would move up to fill the gaps and try to get a better point of view. Yes, at some point I ended up behind him, but also I got crowded by people behind me. We all know when you're at these shows we sometimes end up close to one another. Well, I didn’t back up with people behind me and he started to get more frustrated. I also assume he was with his daughter because she started to get mad too and told me to back the fuck up. He also covered the camera with his head out of frustration for a second. Eventually, some people moved through us and I was able to take a step back away so there was more space. Then, at 1:01:57 - 1:02:14 he turned back to me and put his hand on my shoulder and asked with a cooled down demeanor if I would like to move forward to record, so I said sure. The daughter turned to me with a dirty look again when I passed up and I assume the dad said it was ok. It was a buzzkill in those moments, but just tried to shake off the situation and remember Slayer was playing. I think I understand the situation though. If you were at this festival since 12pm I can understand why anyone’s patience level would be super low. Standing a majority of the day, walking to see bands from stage to stage, it’s hot, place and people smell, food is expensive, using a porta-potty sucks, etc… so I get it.
