It is not unusual to see 3 or more Laysan Albatross dancing together. It usually starts off with a pair, then a third will come along and then maybe a fourth joins and they dance almost in a square formation, similar to what we observe in this clip. If there are only 3 birds in the dance, the third will usually end up leaving the dance early if a fourth does not join in. This foursome do appear to dance in couples after a while, and separate off to visit the nestlings or sit on the grass. Albatross K786 is
