Painted Stork feeding behaviour in salt pans at Pak Thale, Thailand. Painted Stork, Mycteria leucocephala, is one of those birds that makes the link between dinosaurs and birds convincing with its bare face and stalking movements. Painted Stork is a bird that nests in colonies and can gather in large numbers in salt farms, fish ponds, lakes and marshes where these birds feed. Over the last few decades Painted Stork numbers have increased in Thailand with Pak Thale and Laem Pak Bia, near Phetchaburi, one of the best places to see them.
