Athanor enters into the Underworld, Irkala Kar, which is, essentially, an inverted mirror image of the surface world, populated by fiendish denizens. The skies are red, veined and somehow organic, like the inside of a living monster-womb. Euclidian laws do not apply to the geometry of the place and the desolate scenery, dotted with ancient ruins and the towering chimneys of ever-burning furnaces, appears to be an endless wasteland riddled with ash. It is there that the old gods, the gods below, dwell in their surreal basaltic palace, acting as judges and regulators of the final fate of all those who enter Irkala Kar. Order Your Copy:
