It's time to get hyped for the 2023 wildflower season. We received record breaking rains in Southern California and this will stimulate a massive wildflower bloom. Saw these wildflowers on March 18, 2023 at Diamond Valley Lake. There's oranges, yellows, blues, purples, pinks, and whites from many different species of wildflower. The densest patches were yellow and orange, also where the most people were trampling the flowers to take their photos. Shot on Canon EOS R5 with RF 14-35mm f/4 in 4K 60 FPS. I've hiked through Southern California my entire life but more recently have been trying to learn every species in this biodiversity hotspot. I hope these videos can be beautifully aesthetic and educational so we can all better appreciate our natural world. Here are the predominant species of each color (there are many other species as well, but in limited numbers): Orange: California Poppies Yellow: California Goldfields Brittlebush Fiddlene
