This is a new form of life raft, that has been undergoing final sea trials in Holyhead Harbour. It's called the Survitec Seahaven, and it is part of the Seahaven Advanced Evacuation System (SEAS). It was hit by Storm Eunice as it came into Holyhead from the North West, while the raft was made fast to a buoy during its 28 day stay, and despite the protection of the harbour, it took quite a battering. That being said, despite a few zips being open, it seems to have survived, and weathered the extreme storm quite well. It looked stable and safe. It's an impressive thing to look at. We believe it is destined for cruise ships. “The two craft system has a total capacity of 1060 persons and can travel independently at six knots for 24 hours.“ Filmed: 18-02-22 More information here: Please like, comment and subscribe!
