The Russian President has expressed deep concern over the “appalling brutality“ in Iran. He strongly denounced the attack on a friendly nation and criticized malevolent forces. Vladimir Putin reiterated Russia's unwavering commitment to combatting such malevolence. The recent blasts at the Qassim Suleimani Memorial in Iran on January 2 resulted in the deaths of over 100 people. Iranian officials have suggested that either Israel or the U.S. might be responsible for the attacks. Meanwhile, Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah has cautioned Israel against initiating a war with Lebanon, threatening a conflict “without boundaries or limitations“ and warning Benjamin Netanyahu of potential regret. This warning follows the killing of Hamas deputy leader Saleh Al-Arouri in Beirut, which has left Hezbollah deeply angered over Israel's drone strike within Lebanon. Notably, Israel and Hezbollah have previously only engaged in conflict near the border. The strike that killed Arouri marks the first major attack near Beirut since 2006. Additionally, Mossad chief David Barnea has vowed to seek retribution against every Hamas member involved in the October 7 attack on Israel. This pledge comes after a drone strike killed the group's deputy chief, Saleh al-Arouri, in Lebanon, with Israel now directly claiming responsibility for the attack. A Lebanese official informed The Times Of Israel that Israel launched guided missiles from a warplane, resulting in the blast that killed the Hamas member. Following the attack on Beirut, Hezbollah launched nine attacks on Israeli forces within 24 hours across the border. Meanwhile, Israel has interpreted Qatar's silence on the killing as a positive sign for continuing talks on hostage release.
