Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. C/U of hands on a potter's wheel. A pot is being formed. Various shots of potters at work. Jasper figures are moulded and stuck onto the side of a teapot by Fred Rutter. Narrator doesn't explicitly name the company but it is pretty obvious that it is Wedgewood (paperwork confirms this as does a C/U of a mould with the word Wedgewood on the side. Josiah Wedgewood is named as the father of this pottery tradition). Artist Christine Barnett (sp?) paints designs on plates. Various shots of plates being tested and checked for faults. Panning shot of crockery. M/S of a man in overalls pushing over a pile of pottery which crashes to the ground. He picks up pieces of pottery then dashes them to the ground. C/U of a pile of smashed crockery. These are rejects. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
