Though the main event of Kyoto’s famous Gion Festival is the large Yamaboko Junkō parade, the event many tourists and citizens can enjoy to the fullest is Yoiyama. There are six Yoiyama nights during the festival period: three before the first parade on the 17th and three before the second parade on the 24th.
