We sailed, and we socialised. Perhaps, above all else we bonded with our community. It was a pleasure to see greetings to newcomers issued with as much warmth and enthusiasm as those given to old friends and boats. The evening shore time laid on by the Royal Victoria Yacht Club at Wootton Creek (Isle of Wight) and Bembridge Sailing Club (Also IOW and steeped in fascinating history) both provided delicious meals, efficient bars and comfortable indoors and outdoor spaces to catch up with each other and the day. Perfect. But this video is a capturing of some of the sailing. With eight races over three days and just one ‘longer’ leg it was hard going around the cans for some of the bigger boats. Conditions ranged from very light wind up to around 20 knot gusts. Some races it went from almost nothing to strong gusts , then back again, in quick succession.
