By day, he’s a surfboard manufacturer, and by night, he’s a newly discovered automotive talent. When he’s not shaping surfboards, he’s designing and building a new generation of BMW hot rods. These hot rod 2002s are built with a full-carbon fiber body and are fitted with both new and old generation BMW power plants. This particular 2002 weighs only 1,800 lbs and features an E30 drivetrain and engine, paired with a Ford Escort steering system, making it track-ready. Follow along as Paul walks you through his build process and reveals the secrets to his success.
