The Javan Gibbon (Hylobates moloch) is an endangered primate endemic to the island of Java - the largest in the Indonesian archipelago. This footage was made possible with the permission and cooperation of the Aspinall Foundation of West Java, Indonesia. I was incredibly fortunate to be invited to witness the introduction of two individuals into protected, upper elevation montane forests. A heart-felt thank you to the dedicated staff at the Javan Primates Conservation Project (Aspinall Foundation) that are making a real difference to the future of biodiversity in their region. For without individuals such as yourselves, countless flora and fauna species would quietly disappear.
