Language of Video Presentation: Russian (Русский Язык). The БМ-30 “Смерч“ (English: BM-30 “Tornado“) or 9К58 (English: 9K58) is a Soviet heavy Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS). The system is designed to defeat manpower, armored and soft-skinned materiel in concentration areas, artillery batteries, command posts and ammunition depots. It was created in the early 1980s and entered service in the Soviet Union’s Red Army in 1989. The main components of the 9K58 system are the following:
