The first of the VolcanoScapes documentary series. I used to watch this documentary constantly back in 2001, after I’d bought the cassette some 4 years earlier (as “Volcanos: River of Death“), and those bookends of Madame Pele always frightened me a little; now they don’t. I’m posting it here (it was originally on YouTube, where it brought back memories), but not because of sadness; I’m posting it here as a reminder that, like was said on the 4th VolcanoScapes documentary, life is change; the home of the Fire Goddess is filled with contrast, and we shouldn’t be sad that Kīlauea, or Madame Pele, takes the Black Sand Beach of Kaimū, or a bay like Kapoho. This version, ripped from the original VHS, has a few minor differences in the credits; I’m SURE that the GoodTimes VHS (“Volcanos: River of Death“) got the negatives from this version. Enjoy both the documentary AND the music by Bob Kindler, one track (divided in 2) of which comes from “Waters of Life“!
