I was sent this intriguing record by an email correspondent Anthony who had acquired it in France. George Scott-Wood recorded this song twice on January 4, 1934. The vocal take with Sam Browne was issued on Regal Zonophone MR 1992, but the non-vocal take was listed in Rust as “Rejected“. The masters were shipped to France and pressed anonymously on the Pathe label instead! A delightful discovery indeed and one I am grateful he shared. “ORIGINAL JAZZ“ - GEORGE SCOTT-WOOD AND HIS ORCHESTRA George Scott-Wood, p, dir: Max Goldberg, Charlie Price, t / Bud Hammond, tb / Freddy Gardner, cl, as, bar / Jay Langham, cl, as / Reg.
