Every year, Princeton University's Hindu Life Program host an incredible celebration of Diwali at the University's historic chapel. This piece is a traditional song in the Marathi language by Sant Tukaram. He describes the beautiful vision of his Beloved Lord, slowly focusing on the different details of his graceful form, including his garland of fragrant tulasi leaves, his garment of brilliant yellow silk, his fish shaped earrings and the glistening Kaustubha gem decorating his chest. Tukaram says that he could gaze incessantly at the face of his Lord, such is the love and pure bliss he feels. Sundar te dhyan ubhe vitewari | Kar katawari thevuniya || Tulasi har gala kanse pitambar | Aawde nirantar techi roop || Makar kundale talapati shrwani | Kanthi koustubhmani virajit || Tuka mhane maze he chi sarva sukha | Pahin shrimukh aawadine || The ARTISTS Michael Eipper/ Madhava Puri Das: saxophone This song in inspired by the timeless rendition of Lata Mangeshkar:
