An early cyberpunk theatre-based film, themed around transhumanism, Skin #5 is part of a much larger series of performances by a guro theater troupe known as Tokyo Grand Guignol - which shares many connections with icons of Japanese cyberpunk cinema such as Shinya Tsukamoto or Shozin Fukui. Full of blue-screen abuse, theatrical and stagey framing and wildly over the top performance, this was released on a very limited VHS run with a modest amount of promotion back in the day. A fascinating relic of early cyberpunk, and likely highly influential in the development of cyberpunk through the 1990s and beyond. A huge thanks to @JingiMinami for their comprehensive subtitling. He has contributed on multiple projects here and elsewhere, and is an extremely professional and thorough subtitle maker.
