Western AF presents “Times are Strange“ by Joe Wunderle ... “Times are Strange“ indeed. This song and sentiment comes from Joe Wunderle. A kind soul, Ohioan, musical troubadour, and an overlooked gem. There's been a name passed around the country-verse for sometime. A friend in Wyoming named Hunter Hicks was the first to turn me on to Joe's music. He became, an instant favorite. Probably because of that somber demeanor applied with the words coming from his music, just felt real. But it was getting to know the man himself that sells it all. While I hate comparing artists to past musicians, maybe some of you feel that same tenderness that comes from a Woody Gutherie song. A familiar old feeling that continues through stories like his. I think Joe carries that mantle. Letting us know that the times may be different, but the story is the same. Hard times, love fades, the blues never die. We shot this in Nashville earlier this year. Surrounded by Tennesse wilderness and hand rolled cigs. Joe seems at home when he has both but doesn’t need much to feel happy. A man of the world and happy to have what comes at him. There's a brilliant history of his that needs more exploring in the journalistic sense, but till we learn more, it's a pleasure to have his music on the channel. P.S. Thank you to Konstanze and Joe for nursing this ol' boy back to good health on my European expedition. -Mike ... More music from Joe Wunderle: Instagram: Spotify: ...
