This newly released audio clip offers a haunting glimpse into the search for the lost Titan submarine in June 2023. The OceanGate submersible vanished after diving 3,500 metres to reach the wreck of the Titanic. An upcoming documentary recounts the desperate search and rescue mission and includes the chilling recording of knocking sounds, thought by some at the time to have originated from inside the submarine. The Royal Canadian Air Force provided the audio clip to the documentary makers, marking its first public release. Suleman Dawood and his billionaire father Shahzada, were among the five people aboard. Contact with the vessel was lost on June 18 2023, triggering an extensive search effort.
