Alla Boara is all about bringing recognition back to a folk tradition that has been all but lost; especially in America. The founder, Anthony Taddeo, is the son of an Italian immigrant who stumbled upon Alan Lomax's field recordings in Italy from 1954 while researching for his undergraduate degree. Anthony was blown away by the sheer diversity and beauty of this music! In an effort to bring recognition back to this art form and keep it alive, he began “Alla Boara“ a musical group that takes these ancient folk songs (many of which are no longer in use because of industrialization and emigration) and mixes it with jazz, global, and pop music to create something fresh, exciting and accessible! The hope is that through this the group can inspire others to look to their artistic heritage for inspiration in their future creative pursuits.
