If you love visiting country gardens these are two real beauties. Hurdley Hall near Churchstoke in Montgomeryshire is a glorious Welsh Garden in a truly magical location, with stunning vistas over the vale of Montgomery to one side and views over the 18 acres of Coronation wild flower meadows towards Roundton Hill on the other. The garden features Topiary, herbaceous and mixed borders, ponds and a kitchen garden, which by the way houses a log store the neatest log pile I've ever seen. The meadows are full of wildflowers including some lovely orchids and are bordered by woodland. You can follow mown pathways through the grassland into the young orchard and on into the surrounding woods. The garden is part of the National Garden Scheme and is open only a few days a year but is well worth the as they serve tea, coffee and a delicious selection of cakes!! Wollerton Old Hall Garden is a classic English country garden set around the 16th Century Hall. It's a 4 acre garden divided into garden rooms that are richly planted with perennials, roses and shrubs. Exploring the garden is a magical experience with surprises round every corner and through every gateway or gap in the carefully clipped hedges. Hot herbaceous areas, cool rills and ponds, topiary and wonderful covered seating areas and shelters, there are literally treats at every turn. I hope you enjoy this video, although you definitely need to visit these two gardens to really appreciate their beauty, anyway thanks for watching and please subscribe if you would like to see more like this. Music is “At Your Side“ by The Boughs, you can listen to more of my music on Spotify, Apple Music and all the major streaming platforms.
