This video is for educational purposes, and will only stay up with Thulean Perspective's (Varg Vikernes') permission. Burzum (meaning “Darkness“) was a one man music project formed in Bergen, Norway, in 1991 by Varg Vikernes. The “golden age“ of Burzum was between 1991 and 1993, when five albums were recorded and the most mystery surrounded the artist behind it, then known as “Count Grishnakh“. Burzum's early albums were structured with the beginning track designed to initiate the listener into the world of the “darkness of the mind“, making them perceptive to magic. The middle tracks were designed as different spells cast on the listener, and the final track designed to put the listener to sleep. The last two albums recorded in 1993, Hvis Lyset Tar Oss and Filosofem, were released after Varg's enjailment of that year, and marked a distinct shift in the band's music, with a greater emphasis being placed on ambient music. Also in the 1990s, two fully ambient albums were recorded while Varg was in prison, Dauði Baldrs and Hliðskjálf. Burzum continued to make music after Varg's release from prison, with five albums released between 2010 and 2014, most of which featured ambient music. Although Varg has hinted to the contrary, it is generally believed that Burzum will not be making another album again. The drawings in this video were all made by Theodor Kittelsen (1857 - 1914), a Norwegian illustrator who was very influential on the aesthetics of black metal. #Burzum #Ambient #BlackMetal #Norway Tuistos Herz (00:00) Sôlarrâs (06:06) Channelling the Power of Souls Into a New God (10:01) Der Tod Wuotans (13:22) Han Som Reiste (19:58) Thulean Mysteries (24:42) Tomhet (28:49) Rundtgåing av den Transcendentale Egenhetens Støtte (42:52) Autumn Leaves (01:07:58) Haugaeldr (01:12:37) Ansuzgardaraiwô (01:19:57) Móti Ragnarokum (01:24:19) The Portal (01:33:17) Sôlarguði (01:35:31) Mythic Dawn (01:42:35) Frijôs goldene Tränen (01:47:40) Illa Tiðandi (01:50:11) Ek Fellr (02:00:36) Forgotten Realms (02:03:23) The Reckoning of Man (02:10:38) Der weinende Hadnur (02:17:49) Hall of the Fallen (02:18:57) Til Hel og Tilbake Igjen (02:23:58)
