The Sikorsky S-97 Raider and Defiant SB1 Defiant are the next generation multi-mission helicopters platform. The S-97 RAIDER aircraft’s capabilities will meet both conventional U.S. Army and Special Operations future requirements in a variety of combat roles. Additionally, potential applications for US Air Force, US Navy, and US Marine Corp services are being explored. The U.S. Army Aviation Technology Directorate (AATD) selected the Sikorsky-Boeing team to continue the development of the SB1 Defiant, a medium-lift helicopter configured to Sikorsky’s X2™ coaxial design, through flight testing.
