Hello hi have you played the 2000 videogame Deus Ex by Ion Storm published by Eidos Interactive? I have and I think it is a very fun and enjoyable experience with plenty of Role-Playing Game mechanics alongside some stealth and some First Person Shooter gameplay and it's regarded as one of the important godfathers to Immersive Sim gaming. It's story is probably one of its best parts as it somehow covers still fairly relevant real world issues alongside a deep global conspiracy! Which you, as the player character JC (Jesus Christ) Denton must uncover and put an end to for the better of all society. All of this is packaged in a highly re-playable and enjoyable game as its aforementioned RPG mechanics and multiple layers to 3D map design allow you to tackle the gameplay in multiple ways. Not to mention all of the dialogue options, voiced cutscenes and worldbuilding present within its story spread out through optional readable text such as newspapers, bulletins and e-mails. Some of your choices during gameplay and dialogues even effect later cutscenes it's so AWESOME!!! To see a game with such depth and thought put into it. It's such a wonderfully enjoyable experience that I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for a game with a lotta depth to it to check it out. It's literally 97¢ on steam right now and you can even get it in a bundle with most of the rest of the franchise for 2 dollar. Deus Ex has been all over the place in terms of sequels however, Invisible War released in 2003 and since Deus Ex was a PC game first and foremost alongside having a PS2 port its sequel was developed for the Xbox of all things. The relation is just barely there yeah since PCs are dominated by Windows (the software company not the glass you use to see out of your house) and Xbox is a game console by the same company. But it really blows since the entire experience despite looking better than the original is completely gimped in terms of content, gameplay and story. Nearly all RPG elements are just gone and the story is completely based around a what-if scenario based around a hodgepodge of the game's original endings which really sucks since it just ignores previous player choices and makes no real sense given the outcome of it. It's still about a conspiracy and stuff however the whole point of the original Deus Ex was basically to uncover this conspiracy and put an end to it, which imo it gets wrapped up nicely already so I just don't see a point in IW's existence overall sadly. Anyways, shortly after Ion Storm went bankrupt or something due to dogmatism surrounding the development of Deus Ex 3 and the rights then went to Eidos Interactive. Which at some point shifted over to Eidos Montreal or something. Not exactly sure but the most important thing to understand is that Square Enix those JRPG Final Fantasy dudes bought out Eidos and now an American IP is owned by a Japanese game studio. Whack I know, but at least this allowed Eidos to then develop and put out essentially Deus Ex 3, Deus Ex Human Revolution. DXHR is certainly better than DXIW however overall it feels like they couldn't decide if the game was a reboot or continuation (DXMD basically proves that it is a line of prequels though), the structure of story elements and where you go to feels like a rearrangement of the original game's locations and while it's gameplay is different it's still fun, still has some elements from the original game in terms of progression alongside modern shooter features. However your choices don't really matter unlike in the original. Overall it's probably the second best Deus Ex game from what I've played. Now finally we arrive to Deus Ex Mankind Divided, basically DX4. DXMD I haven't actually beaten unfortunately because I'm lazy and set all the graphics settings to high on ma gamur PC and it crashed the game during the tutorial level. It's a very pretty game judging from the graphics along with a ridiculously high level of polish but now I have to go into hearsay territory and just say that, well, “allegedly“ the story really leaves a lot to be desired for. Since these Eidos prequel games were supposed to be a trilogy and the game just ends without much closure, obviously because a THIRD game was planned. Although Squeenix sucks at figuring out how much a good sale for a game is so they shelfed the entire franchise because their efforts into making it some kind of multimedia franchise to rival Metal Gear and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell just wasn't working out unfortunately. However, GOOD news about this franchise is seemingly on the horizon! Eidos after being banished to what I assume is shovelware hell has finally been bought out by the publishing company “Embracer Group,“ which means Eidos has time to work with more of their own IPs!! in fact just 55 minutes ago news reports are going around saying they want to do stuff with Deus Ex and Tomb Raider, might just be malarkey but I think it all sounds really cool. Here I go maxing out th
