TW: blood, murder, strong language - my first proper gmv!! i've been thinking about this game for like a month and really felt the need to make a tribute for it! the parallels between abby and ellie joel are just too good to be left unedited lol if you aren't a fan of this game, then this really isn't the video for you btw, you should probably go watch some compilations of ellie killing abby instead maybe lol i've been working on this video for a good 3 weeks and finally feel like i've done this song justice! if you've been one of my longtime subscribers you probably know that i've used it before and that video just sucks so bad. 2018 me just wasn't a very good editor ngl lmao but no fr, i really really enjoyed this game and the message it portrayed. joel's choice of the previous game never sat right with me and and i wasn't surprised that he got killed off in this one. i loved him as a character and cried for him for like 20 minutes lmao, but man, was that a selfish choice that he was lucky to have survived that long. i will admit that i was right there along with everyone at first, flabbergasted and distressed that we had to play as abby. but then i personally grew really fond of her and i think naughty dog did a very good job of fleshing her out as a character (and i'm surprised that didn't happen with more people) if i'm being honest i think she was way way way more morally correct than ellie in this game. speaking of ellie, i hated seeing her go through this. she deserved better, let's be real lol i know a lot of people dislike this game bc of the ending, but again, i would've hated it had ellie gone ahead and killed abby. it just would've started that horrible cycle of revenge again with lev (who is highkey my favorite character btw) going after ellie for revenge. and she would've never forgiven herself for never making things right with joel either. i think ellie and abby both did what they thought was right while their minds were clouded by that toxic need for revenge and they both just made horrible decisions for them and everyone around them in the process. they're both inherently good people in a world that just isn't kind to them and i think naughty dog did a good job in portraying this. i hope it also came over that way in my edit :') - you can also find me on: -tumblr: credit: -coloring: mine #thelastofus #thelastofusgmv #thelastofus2
