Objective: Viewers will learn to create a macrame placemat using a pattern of alternating square knots. Materials: 3mm single strand cotton string, wooden dowel (1 - 1.5 inches in diameter), measuring tape, sharp scissors, rotary cutter, self healing cutting mat, painters tape. Use code rachel5 to get 5% off at Directions: 1. Cut 32 pieces of string to 4 yards. 2. Attach each string to the dowel using a lark's head knot. 3. Form a row of square knots using all of the working strings. 4. Leave out two working strings on each end and form a second row of square knots. 5. Repeat step 3-4 until you have reached the desired length. 6. Remove the piece from the dowel rod and unfold the lark's head knots. 7.
