No title. Landscape - salt flats surrounded by trees. Camera pans. Car drives across salt flats. “Harvesting salt is a straightforward test of human endurance against flare, heat and thirst - “ Two men walk behind a horse drawn plough contraption which presumably scrapes up the salt. When they reach a certain point the gathering device is tipped out and the salt is left in a pile. “The surface of this lake is 98% salt and about £16,000 harvest is gathered each year.“ C/U of two men at work. One man holds open a sack and the other man shovels in salt. C/U of man drinking from a metal can. He wipes his chin. Two men work shovelling salt into the back of a cart. One man wearing sunglasses takes his hat off and wipes his forehead. Large metal containers are filled with salt. We then see these trucks being moved along a railway line with a man operating an engine which pushes them along. Two men operate the horse drawn salt gathering device. They sit on it as the horses pull it along.
