Ludwig van Beethoven's third symphony, also known as the “Eroica,“ is considered one of the most significant works in the history of music. Composed in 1802-04, it marked a turning point in Beethoven's career, both in terms of style and form. The symphony was dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte, but Beethoven later removed the dedication upon learning that Napoleon had proclaimed himself Emperor. The first movement of the “Eroica“ is a powerful and complex work that showcases Beethoven's innovative approach to form and harmony.
