In the summer of 1881, King Ludwig II of Bavaria and the young Munich court actor Josef Kainz set off incognito on a journey to the Lake Lucerne in Switzerland to visit the historical locations of Schiller’s „Wilhelm Tell“. The film explores the conflict between two people from different worlds.
