Celebrating 40 years since the release of the first house record! January 20th 1984, saw the release of ‘On & On’ by Jesse Saunders on Jes Say Records, a Chicago-based label founded by Jesse himself and Vince Lawrence. This record is widely considered to be the first piece of house music ever released, which after just a few days had sold all 500 copies on vinyl. The record spread virally throughout Chicago, the Midwest and beyond. The magnitude of which Jesse could never have ever imagined! To celebrate this milestone, Jesse has sent us an exclusive set recorded back in 2021 before he sadly had a stroke, which has left him unable to speak or spin.
