The New York Foundation for Injured Animals has received a Chihuahua puppy. The puppy, named Lundy, had a spinal cord injury. He could not fully move, so the breeder chose to abandon the disabled puppy. A shelter employee accidentally placed a pigeon, Herman, one of the shelter’s old residents, on Lundy’s bedding. The bird’s wing was damaged and he had to forget about flying forever. The pigeon lived in the shelter for a long time and had no intention of leaving it. But he struck up a strong friendship only with Lundy, whom he met by chance being nearby.
