Change was an Italian-American band that formed in 1979 with Jacques Fred Petrus, Mauro Malavasi and Davide Romani in Bologna, Italy. The idea of the band was to have a constantly changing lineup of members, thus the name. Once the musical tracks were recorded, the tapes were shipped to New York for additional production involving the recording of vocalists. “The Glow Of Love“ was a superb production in the vein of Chic and the first single “A Lover's Holiday“ is direct homage. The piano licks, pliant basslines and the nearly spoken lyrics delivered by unemotional females fuelled the catapult to #1 on the disco/dance chart in 1980 with Luther Vandross providing a soulful counterpoint on background vocals. The album “The Glow Of Love“ was the #1 Disco album of the year, with three songs topping the disco/dance chart for a total of nine weeks. Luther began a successful solo career in 1981.
