Gibraltar. L/S of the landing strip at Gibraltar. Tourists looking at the famous Barbary apes. There are shots of the cemetery, canon balls, flags, guards on parade. There are shots over the water to Africa, a red British double letterbox, in the town, the concrete water catchment wall, and aerial shots. We see holiday makers and sunbathers, market stalls and streets, a horse drawn carriage, called a gharry. There are some good aerial shots, panning round the Rock, and views of the lighthouse at Europa Point. Some holiday makers go sea fishing, a woman, and a man with a hat covered in badges. The fish are hung up when caught. We finish with a sequence of people crossing the border, with close shots of feet, people with bicycles, a donkey with a hat and angry officials at the frontier. Note : There is also a tradition said of these apes that if they leave , the British will have to leave the Rock. Excellent shots of life in Gibraltar and holiday makers. See also CP 488 Cuts.
