Please note: The legend in the video is vice versa. The salty water is on top while the fresh water is on the bottom. The famous Rayleigh-Taylor Instability is based on density differences in the fluid. Here, the bottom liquid is pure water while the top fluid is salty water. The tiny density difference induces a buoyancy force which leads to acceleration of the fluid and interaction between the lighter and heavier fluid forming blooms and beautiful structures.
