This deployment is to anticipate acts of hostility, ongoing threats of violence, and various other threats. F-18 Super Hornet Fighters were deployed to conduct flight operations over the flight deck of USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78). USS Gerald R Ford is currently conducting Aircraft Compatibility Tests to further test the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG).
