A fighter of the ’Crimea’ battalion with the codename ’Uncle Vasya’ does not have a hand. He lost it during the conflict in Trans-Dniester in 1992. But he continued military service. In 2014, he decided to defend the LPR from Kiev’s aggression. ’Uncle Vasya’ is from Odessa. He still remembers with fear the tragedy of May 2 in the Trade Unions House. ’That’s probably why we are fighting now, so this doesn’t happen again,’ he says.
