Overplaying Carrtoon's Spaceships, one unnecessary drum fill at a time

Practicing to songs I love makes playing more enjoyable, so this is more of a proof of concept video than a musical performance (sorry Carrtoons). I wanted to try to expand on the concept of sweeps, which are usually a showmanship thing, and utilize them within call & response motifs in phrasing fills. For the first chop, sweeping from the crash to the snare gives the fill an explosive element while also creating the illusion I'm playing some sort of flam. Syncopated 16th note triplet rhythms are really the standard for phrasing fills, and I think it works well here. The last chop also uses sweeps, but in a more straightforward 32nd note style. Adding short rests is also huge in phrasing chops, and I've been trying to practice putting space into these sort of (potentially career ending) drum fills.
