Why do children sit down to learn? Traditional learning approaches limit educational creativity and academic performance, while also negatively impacting on physical activity and health. Physically Active Learning combines movement and learning. Initial research proves positive impacts on academic performance, classroom behaviour and cognition. Bryn Llewellyn worked in various schools in Yorkshire as a teacher and school leader, during which time he was increasingly concerned that the test-driven curriculum was having a negative effect on levels of inactivity and obesity.
