Petersburski – Szmaragd), Syrena-Electro 1932 (Polish) NOTE: Here is one more tango composed in the interwar period by celebrated Polish composer and dance bandleader Jerzy Petersburski. His most famous hits, which made his name famous, were “O Donna Clara” from 1929 (Polish title: Tango Milonga) which over past 90 years has been performed by most of the tango orchestras all over the world, on par with tangos Jalousie or La Cumparsita, and “It’s A Last Sunday” (To ostatnia niedziela) from 1936 . The last one became so immensely popular in the Soviet Union, that under the Russian title “Utomliennye solntse” (A Weary Sun) it is often considered as original Russian composition from the 1930s.
