The Hurrian Hymn to Nikkal is considered one of the oldest pieces of music notation in the world. This hymn dates back to approximately 1400 BCE and was discovered in the ancient city of Ugarit (in modern-day Syria). It's written in the Hurrian language on a clay tablet inscribed with cuneiform text. The notation is not fully understood, but its decipherment has led to several attempts to reconstruct the melody.
