In this new video we inaugurate a brand new Electronic Beats TV series entitled ‘Bygone Techno Powerhouses’. The feature takes a look at labels that have become somewhat forgotten today by most, yet had a formative influence on Techno and Electronic Music in Germany and across the globe. First up in the series we take a look at New Zone, the imprint was recognised as one of the labels that shaped the Sound of Frankfurt at the end of the eighties and the beginning of the nineties through its iconic releases, which soon spread throughout the globe, going on to gain great popularity In countries such as Spain, Mexico, the USA and many more. The sound was somewhere between EBM and early techno or, as it was called in Germany at the time, Techno-House. Enjoy this historical short we’ve pieced together, which was partly created with the help of AI-generated images. And like always, feedback is welcome.
