Choral fantasia “Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland“ (“Savior of the nations, come“) by Nicolaus Bruhns. This organ work based on the melody from the Lutheran chorale and written in Stylus fantasticus. In keeping with the chorale melody, the piece has four parts and demonstrates the chorale verses one by one together with the convincing use of contrapuntal and figurative techniques, also with echo effects. Presented here with original manuscript. Nicolaus Bruhns (1665-1697) was a Danish-German organist, violinist and composer. He was one of the most prominent organists and composers of his generation. Video with normal score: Performer: Friedhelm Flamme (organ)
