Ritmicas 5 & 6, composed in 1930 by Cuban composer Amadeo Roldán y Gardes, is performed by Iowa Percussion and conducted by Dan Moore. The Ritmicas are among the earliest compositions written for percussion ensemble. These pieces mix elements of Afro-Cuban music with the contemporary musical vocabulary of the 1930s.
