Two men arrested on suspicion of murder after a disabled man on a mobility scooter was stabbed to death in east London have been released by police. Jade Anthony Barnett, 38, was found with a stab injury after reports of a fight on Rushmore Road, Clapton, at 15:38 BST on Wednesday. He was treated by paramedics but died at the scene, the Metropolitan Police said. Det Ch Insp Phil Clarke said a 28-year-old man and a 21-year-old man have been released with no further action. “I want to reassure the local community that my team of experienced detectives is making good progress as we piece together the events that led to Jade’s murder and work to identify whoever is responsible,“ Det Ch Insp Clarke said as he appealed for more information. “Jade was stabbed in the street during the middle of the day. “I know there are people who have yet to come forward to police for whatever reason who will have seen what happened or taken pictures or video as events unfolded.“ Police have set up a dedicated portal so witnesses can upload images and footage. The Met said Mr Barnett’s family continued to be supported by specially trained officers and were being kept updated with developments. Previously, Mr Barnett's friends said he lost his leg in a motorcycle accident in 2007. His sister Simone Barnett described him as a “cheerful and caring“ man.
