For strong wind go to 01:00:00 For setting first and then second reef with main sail up go to 00:28:30 In this video I sail single handed on our 10 year old Haber 660 C2 near Arbon. I sail east with the wind from aft to beam reach most of the time. I started with a very light wind, but the dark clouds encouraged me to set the main sail to the second reef. A wise decision, as windspeed picked up to over 6 Bft. You will see that I was very lucky not to be hit by the boom when the wind direction suddenly changed with the first gusts of the storm. The Haber 660 is a sturdy sailing boat and always feels safe. I have traveled winds with over 110 km/h. This was a light storm in comparison. But with short waves coming from behind it felt a bit like riding a wild Bronco well over hull speed. I found that this is a situation that my tiller pilot couldn't handle. After 1.5 hours the battery of the camera was empty. The VIRB image stabilizer did an amazing job, the camera was fixed to the vibrating flagpole.
