DO KETTLEBELL SNATCHES HURT? A question I get very often is, “how do you make it so the kettlebell doesn’t slam on your forearm?” The PUNCH THROUGH! 🤜🏽 Punching through is basically extending your fist and kettlebell handle so that they both sweep under the bell. This movement flips the kettlebell upside down so that the large part of the kettlebell makes contact with the forearm before the bell reaches its highest point. This prevents the bell from crashing down on the forearm when it’s above you. Helpful tips: -Don’t death grip the bell. The handle needs some wiggle room to rotate and flip the bell. -Punch Through while the kettlebell is weightless. This is usually the point when the kettlebell loses most of its momentum. During the snatch, that’s usually right as the kettlebell is above eyebrow or forehead level. -Practice lower punch throughs. Watch the portion of the video when I start at eye level and work my way to a full snatch. Thanks to @joellerblades for sharing 👑 Did this help your snatch?
