This short-eared owl (Asio flammeus) had just caught a small rodent (vole/mouse), but spotted a Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus). Although it tried to get away by gaining height, the falcon was persistent, eventually forcing the owl to relinquish the meal. RSPB Otmoor nature reserve, Oxfordshire, UK. October 2022.
