Join me for a walk around the heart of one of the most popular tourist destinations in Cumbria's always-lively Lake District: Bowness-on-Windermere! Once a humble fishing village on the shores of Lake Windermere, England's largest lake, this small town has grown up to become a packed visitor hub, with heritage linked to a number of literary figures including Charles Dickens, William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter! On our walk around Bowness-on-Windermere, we pass a number of interesting landmarks, including St. Martin's Church, Old Bowness, Hole in t' Wall pub (The New Hall Inn), The Stags Head Hotel, Lake Windermere, the Windermere Ferry, The Belsfield Hotel, The Royal Oak, Ash Street and The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. Thank you so much to the following sites for their help in my research of Bowness-on-Windermere:
